The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was founded in 1890 by a small group of women who desired to step out of their daily lives to serve the nation and its people. It is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization comprised of 3,000 chapters and over 190,000 members. Each NSDAR chapter is dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
